“Designing role-based authorization controls and verifiable audit logs for hospital inpatient wards and outpatient clinics.”

Electronic health records (EHR) demand the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Healthcare compliance mandates that access to protected health information (PHI) is granted strictly on a need-to-know basis.

Our clinical systems enforce fine-grained role-based access control (RBAC) combined with attribute-based evaluation (ABAC). A physician attending an inpatient ward is granted contextual charting rights that expire upon patient discharge or shift handoff.

Every access attempt—whether viewing vital signs, updating pharmacy orders, or exporting laboratory results—generates an immutable audit record containing actor identity, tenant ID, workstation fingerprint, and timestamp.
